Cup Fever Sweeps Ashton 

Ashton Ladies Manager Steve Ponsfords team face another Portishead team within 7 days to in-form Division One side Portishead Ladies Reserves in the league cup. 

Portishead, who have lost just once this season which was last weekend (26/10/2025) to rivals in the league, Wellington Wildcats. The reserves visit 4 match unbeaten Ashton Ladies. Ashton secured a 3-7 league away win to Portishead Ladies 'A' at Bristol road last weekend in probably one of the toughest of the season so far. Ashton have lost just once this season to Street away 2-0 at the end of September. 

Manager Steve Ponsford commented on the upcoming match "This will undoubtedly be the toughest of the season yet playing a team from a league above, and top as well." "We played another Portishead team in our league last week and we didn't really secure the points until the last ten minutes of the match". He continued, "We played good football last week, but we were our own enemy and we need to learn from that, and we are learning every game". I don't know what to expect of this Portishead team but I expect they will be a good footballing team as the league table above us states".

 

Kick off for this match will be 2pm at Bristol Manor Farm, Portway, BS9 2EJ
